The Naga live on a secluded island, a mile or so away from the bay. Their island is full of lush vegetation in the center, paning out into swamp. The Western Shore is very steep and rigid, large waves constantly crashing onto the edge. The Eastern Shore is an evened beach coated with black sand. A good (?) miles lies between the two shores.
Below the water, a coral reef thrives and encircles a good 2/3 of the island. Not many Naga venture into the sea because of that reason.
A sacred Temple emploded with knowledge and ancient artifacts lies directly in the midst of the island. It is heavily guarded and under utmost secrecy.
No land animal had access to the Naga's island, mainly because they have no way of reaching it rather than swimming. Even the most desperate don't make it far, because the Merpeople circle the waters below. The Naga, however, are well aware of a hidden passage weaving below the ocean floor. It reappears along the bay, yet no land creature has found it.
